I charge $35.00 for every 10,000 words for an initial read through and a 1-2 page critique. After that, we can negotiate a price depending on what further editing services your work requires. I do copy-editing (also called line edit - for spelling and grammar) and I also do substantive edit (for story flow, character development, etc.)
I edit both fiction and non-fiction. I also edit and advise regarding query letters, synopsis and book proposals.
After we have agreed on a rate, I will draw up a contract for you. In fairness to both of us, payments for larger works would be made in installments throughout the editing process.
I use "track changes" in Microsoft Word for editing.

My schedule is quite full so there will be times when I cannot take on any new editing jobs. I will also advise you if I feel that you would be better served by working with a different editor (for example, I would not be the editor of choice if your work is erotica or horror).
